Butler County Regional Transit Authority Announces R3 Route Extension Effective October 28, 2024

September 25, 2024

Hamilton, Ohio, September 25, 2024 – The Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA) is pleased to announce an extension of the R3 route, which will now shift from the Hamilton-Oxford Connector to the Oxford-Forest Park Connector, effective October 28, 2024. This extension introduces new stops, offering riders access to popular destinations along Dixie Highway and a connection to Cincinnati Metro at the Forest Park, Park & Ride.

“This is one of several changes BCRTA is implementing to serve the community better,” said Shawn Cowan, Director of Customer Care and Public Engagement for BCRTA. “The route extension comes in response to a year-long planning study that gathered extensive feedback from our riders. Respondents overwhelmingly desired more convenient connections to destinations along Dixie Highway and additional transit options to connect with Cincinnati Metro.”

Current R3 riders will notice slight time adjustments to the schedule and increased frequency. BCRTA is confident these changes will better meet the community’s needs by providing additional frequency and improved connectivity.

“We are actively working on additional route improvements and service enhancements to expand our current offerings further,” Cowan added. “Our goal is to ensure our services evolve with the needs of Butler County residents, making public transit a more viable and accessible option for all.”
