BCRTA Joins Over 65 Ohio Transit Agencies & the Ohio Public Transit Association to Celebrate Ohio Loves Transit Week, February 9-15

February 10, 2025

The Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA) is proud to join transit agencies across the state in celebrating Ohio Loves Transit Week, February 9-15. This annual event highlights the vital role public transit plays in connecting people to jobs, education, healthcare, and essential services.

BCRTA provides over 840,000 rides across Butler County each year, serving as a lifeline for many—including older adults, individuals with disabilities, and those relying on transit for job training, medical appointments, and employment. With over 30,000 demand response trips dedicated to workforce transportation, public transit is a key driver of economic mobility.

Public transit is also a powerful economic engine, with research showing that every $1 invested in public transit generates $4 in economic return. Whether traveling to shopping centers, airports, libraries, parks, bike trails, or countless other destinations, BCRTA is committed to keeping Butler County moving.

Exciting Growth for BCRTA in 2025

This is a landmark year for BCRTA, as we continue expanding and improving transportation services in Butler County:

  • In Fall 2025, the new Chestnut Street Multimodal Station in Oxford will open, providing a modern transit hub to enhance connectivity for residents, students, and visitors.
  • BCRTA’s Moser Court Facility is also expanding, adding a larger bus yard, a new propane fueling station, and enhanced driver training programs. These improvements will increase service efficiency and sustainability while strengthening BCRTA’s ability to meet growing transit demands.

As part of Ohio Loves Transit Week, BCRTA will travel to the Ohio Statehouse on February 11 to meet with elected officials and express gratitude for their continued support of public transportation.

Community members who value transit’s impact are encouraged to show their support by sending a letter to the Butler County Commissioners advocating the importance of public transportation. Ohio needs transit, and Butler County needs transit!
