February 25, 2025

February 24, 2025 – BUTLER COUNTY, OH – The Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA) recently hosted its annual employee breakfast, a time-honored tradition celebrating its employees’ dedication and hard work. During the event, BCRTA recognized outstanding team members with “Best of the Best” awards and honored key community partners for their contributions to public transit and the greater Butler County community.

This year, BCRTA is proud to recognize Miami University for its long-standing partnership and continued commitment to public transit. Miami University and BCRTA have worked together since 2012, and their collaboration continues to grow through several key initiatives:

  • Renewal of a 10-year service contract (2024–2033) ensuring continued transit service for the Miami University community.
  • Execution of a 40-year land lease for the construction of the Chestnut Street Multimodal Station, set to open in 2025.
  • A $1.6 million commitment to constructing the new Chestnut Street Station, enhancing mobility and connectivity for Oxford and surrounding areas.

BCRTA also recognized the Fitton Center for Creative Arts and its StreetSpark program for their innovative collaboration in bringing public art to public transit. Since January 2022, BCRTA and the Fitton Center have worked together to transform buses into vibrant moving murals, each piece inspired by the rich creativity of Hamilton’s community. Through this partnership, seven stunning murals have been created, providing residents with the unique opportunity to experience local art in a dynamic, accessible way.

BCRTA extends its most profound appreciation to all employees and community partners who make public transit thrive in Butler County.
