November 11, 2024, Hamilton, OH—The Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA) is pleased to announce the award of $2.5 million from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) under the FASST (Fuel Alternative, Storage, Security, Training) initiative. This funding will support crucial infrastructure improvements, including an expanded bus yard, a new propane fuel station, and enhanced driver training programs.
BCRTA extends its gratitude to ODOT for its support in making these capital improvements possible. These upgrades will support the CincyLink Commuter route, which connects residents of Butler and Warren counties with places of employment in Hamilton County. An estimated 250,000 jobs are within three miles of CincyLink stops.
“We’re proud to offer seamless, border-agnostic transportation solutions that support our region’s workforce,” said Matt Dutkevicz, Executive Director of BCRTA. “This project will enhance our efficiency, safety, and preparedness to serve our riders. We’re excited to strengthen the infrastructure supporting regional connectivity and shared economic prosperity.”
“Public transit is essential in connecting Ohio’s workers to employment opportunities,” said ODOT Director Pamela Boratyn. “This funding ensures that transit agencies are equipped to provide reliable mobility options for the workforce across Ohio.”
These improvements represent BCRTA’s commitment to supporting regional economic growth, improving access to employment, and investing in a sustainable future for Ohio’s workforce.
