42X West Chester Express Restarts March 8, 2021
February 22, 2021
The 42X-West Chester Express will resume service March 8 thanks to a partnership between Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA) and the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA/Cincinnati Metro).
The bus route, funded by the Butler County RTA and operated by Cincinnati Metro, has been in service since 1999. The service was suspended in May of 2020 when ridership dropped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to the pandemic, West Chester Express averaged more than 9,000 riders a month.
“We’re pleased to work with our partners at SORTA to reintroduce this valuable workforce service for Butler County as we begin to recover from the fallout of COVID-19,” said Matthew Dutkevicz, executive director of BCRTA.
The West Chester Express begins at the Meijer Park and Ride on Tylersville Road with direct routes to the downtown Cincinnati area. The bus runs Monday through Friday starting at 6:02 a.m. The 42x is convenient, affordable and efficient for residents that travel daily to the downtown area, says BCRTA.
Scheduling information and fare prices can be found on the SORTA website.
